We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant at Prestwood Infant School to support a SEN child 1 to 1, on a fixed term contract (possible extension) Tuesday to Thursday, 8.45am to 3.15pm, to start as soon as possible.

Start date ASAP.

Prestwood Infant School is an outstanding 2 form entry village school with incorporated Preschool, in a lovely location, federated with Prestwood Junior School.

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Learning Support Assistant to be part of our team and will work 1 to 1 with one of our SEN children.

About you

Ideally you will have experience in working with children with additional needs in an infant school setting.

You will need a good understanding of child development and factors affecting a child’s behaviour.

Good written and oral communication skills are vital as is the ability to work as part of a team.

To be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to children, parents and other staff members.

A team player and adaptable to changes.

We are seeking someone who has experience of working within an infant school setting; can provide a safe and positive learning environment by managing pupil behaviour, in accordance with the school’s behaviour policy, and have a willingness to manage challenging behaviour if it occurs.  You will be required to actively contribute to the development and quality of the setting, possess effective verbal and written communication skills, and be able to communicate well with parents or carers.
