Overview

Aylesbury was awarded Garden Town status in January 2017. Garden Town status brings with it substantial funding for new developments, transport links, infrastructure and facilities and we need an experienced Project Manager/Senior Planner to help shape the future of Aylesbury.

Through innovative design we aim to create greener and better connected communities in a well-planned, sustainable environment.  We are tight knit team working across the District and County Councils to delivery projects to achieve the Garden Town Vision for Aylesbury.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager/ Senior Planner to lead and manage the delivery of the Aylesbury Garden Town Programme. You will manage a number projects and work streams andalso contribute to the formation of new projects and other shaping of the programme.

The role will be varied and include working actively and dynamically across teams in the County and District Councils, elected members, and other local partners on Aylesbury projects.  As project manager, this means driving delivery on the ground, drafting projects briefs, producing tender documents, managing contract procurement and establishing the work programme. Key to this role will be liaising with various partners and government agencies involved in the Garden Town Project and You’ll also need excellent communication and negotiation skills to successfully engage and managing relevant stakeholders.

The successful Project Manager/ Senior Planner will have considerable latitude in how potential problems should be solved to ensure the success and commercial viability of the project.
