About the role
We are looking for a receptionist who will be the first point of contact for parents, pupils and all visitors to the school both face to face and on the telephone. You will be juggling the demands of a busy reception desk whilst welcoming visitors, signing them in using the electronic visitors’ entry system, producing visitors’ passes and checking and recording ID as necessary. You will have responsibility for bringing together articles for the School Newsletter and ensuring that staff data on SIMS is kept up-to-date. Other duties will include typing letters to parents, sorting daily incoming post and the prompt checking and distribution of deliveries, all of which contribute to the smooth running of the school office. External and internal training is provided as appropriate to the role and continued professional development of our staff is encouraged.
See Attached Job Description.
In order to carry out this role you will need strong communication skills and be able to record and give accurate information. You will have a friendly, easy going personality. Having a disciplined and unflustered nature and being able to multi task is essential. Ideally, you will have experience of working in a similar role, being part of a team as well as being able to work independently. You will need experience of Microsoft packages including Word and Excel and having an artistic flair may be a benefit. Although experience of using SIMS is desirable training will be given to the right candidate. You will be able to interact appropriately with the school community including parents, staff and children who visit reception on a daily basis. The ability to travel to our other sites would also be an advantage.
See attached Person specification.
