Transport Strategy Officer
Buckinghamshire County Council has an exciting opportunity for a Transport Strategy Officer to join our Transport Strategy Team within the Transport Economy Environment department.
About the role
What will our transport network look like in the future? You’ll help us decide.
It will be your job to provide the recommendations and guidance that will shape our transport policies and strategies. By undertaking research and talking to partners, you’ll amass the knowledge and insight we need to make big decisions. This could be anything from writing strategies for our highways to developing a range of cycling projects, or engagement on major schemes.
We’ll also look to you to assess and evaluate complex information and situations; suggesting solutions and interventions that help us meet our objectives.
We are working on a range of national high profile projects, including the proposed Heathrow expansion, East West Rail and the Oxford to Cambridge Expressway, making it an excellent time to join our Transport Strategy team.
This is a fixed term post until 28th February 2019.
Armed with a relevant degree (or equivalent) and experience in Transport Planning or Policy, you’ll be equipped to go far in our team.
You can develop policy, plans and strategy; and have worked with strategic partners, including government departments. Combining all this with great research skills, a gift for communication and an organised approach, you’ll be as good with people as you are with analysis.
A strong project manager too, you’ll have the well-rounded skillset we’re looking for to help secure the future of transport in Buckinghamshire.
