Stocklake Park Seconary Special School are looking for a Senior Learning Support Assistant on a Permanent contract.

Monday to Friday 37 hours per week

Term time only (39 weeks per year including INSET days)

Bucks Pay Range 2, Actual salary range £15,861 - £17,816 (approx.)

 Part of the Vale Federation of Schools, Booker Park School is primary special school which caters for children from Nursery to Y6 who have a wide range of special educational needs. 

The role has arisen due to our rising student numbers and their complex needs.

About the role

This rewarding, and sometimes challenging role, will include supporting students to access and engage with teacher-led curriculum/learning activities, whilst encouraging interaction with others and promoting self-esteem.  You will be assisting with the implementation of individual education and behaviour plans and personal care programmes, attending to students personal hygiene needs where necessary.  The Senior Learning Support Assistant will assist the teacher in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources and be required to lead the whole class during the teacher’s non-contact (PPA) time and also during short-term absence of the teacher.  Comprehensive training is provided as appropriate to the role and continued professional development of our staff is encouraged.

In order to carry out this role you will enjoy working with students who have special educational needs, have an appreciation of the positive attitudes required to encourage independence in our students together with high expectations and respect towards students, common sense, warmth and a sense of humour.  You will also be enthusiastic and caring, resilient, healthy and committed to working as part of a team. Flexibility and a commitment to training is expected.
