Project Officer - Civic & Ceremonial Service
The Civic and Ceremonial Service provides a range of services and support for and on behalf of the County Council, particularly the Chairman of the Council, and also the Lord Lieutenant and the High Sheriff. In its day to day work, the team also promotes the history and heritage of the county of Buckinghamshire. The team is part of the Customer and Communications Team within the Assistant Chief Executive’s Service.
About the role
In this role you’ll provide crucial professional organisational support and advice as part of our Civic and Ceremonial Services team. You will provide administrative support to the Civic Officer, supporting the Chairman of the Council, the Lord Lieutenant and the High Sheriff and getting involved in specific projects, and functions, as well as meetings, workshops and conferences, where you’ll be delivering a wide range of events management support.

This is a fixed term contract for 6 months, we would ideally like the successful candidate to start in early June.
A positive, enthusiastic individual, you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with considerable experience of working within a customer facing environment. As this role will be supporting senior figures within the Local Authority, as well as working with a wide range of partners, demonstration of political and organisational awareness as well as strong negotiating and influencing skills will be key to performing this role successfully.
A strong team player, you’ll be able to work on your own initiative, with a positive and flexible approach to work and excellent planning and organisational skills. You may be required to, on occasion, work outside of normal office hours, including weekends, to support the use of the facilities or specific functions.
