Residential Workers - Aylesbury
We are looking for Residential Workers to join our new Home in Aylesbury to provide a positive living experience for the resident young people.
We are embarking on introducing four new Children’s residential homes in Buckinghamshire. Our residential homes will provide stable, effective placements for young people, including those with challenging behaviour – providing them with a safe, caring community in which they can learn how to build positive relationships.
About the role
You will encourage and stimulate emotional and social growth by devising and organising out-of-school activities, encouraging the children/young people to socialise and to join organisations outside the Home.
In addition, you will work in partnership with families and carers of children, Social Workers and other outside agencies, as required.
You will be:
- Committed to working with children and young people aged 11 to 18 who present complex and challenging behaviours.
- Have appropriate knowledge and experience of working with children and committed to training.
- Creative and able to use your own initiative whilst working in a challenging environment.
- Enthusiastic and highly adaptable to changing circumstances.
In addition you should possess good written, IT and communication skills.
The role involves working a shift system including weekends, early morning and evening work.
Ideally you should have a relevant qualification (eg NNEB, NVQ 3 in Care) and.experience of working in a social services related settings (including voluntary work).
