The opportunity

We deliver a range of apprenticeship courses in the Buckinghamshire area. We are seeking work based tutors to support local people, in particular young adult apprentices, to gain qualifications and apprenticeship frameworks. We provide a work based learning model offering blended learning through our e-learning system and regular visits with apprentices which involves teaching, learning and assessment of underpinning knowledge and practice activities. We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic Tutor/Assessors who are committed to the development of young people.

About us

Buckinghamshire Adult Learning is part of the Learning, Skills and Prevention Service, whose mission is: to provide inclusive learning opportunities that will promote well-being and inspire people living or working in Buckinghamshire to achieve their potential. We are the main provider of part-time learning opportunities for adults in the county. The Service offers an advertised programme of taught courses and workshops from Entry Level to Level 4. We offer qualifications in areas such as English, mathematics and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), child care (CACHE), accounting (AAT), a range of apprenticeships and the City and Guilds Award in Education and Training for those who wish to embark on teaching/ training adults. We offer a wide range of non-accredited courses in creative studies, foreign languages, computing and health and fitness. Approximately 9,000 learners each year access our programmes in around 140 locations across the county including dedicated Adult Learning Centres, school premises, community centres and employer premises. Programmes are available daytime, evening and weekends for most of the year. There are courses for parents and carers with their children arranged by the Family Learning team. We work with employers, both large and small, delivering Skills for Life, and Apprenticeships up to Level 5.

About the role
