The opportunity

This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to make a difference and join one of the country’s largest and most innovative Trading Standards services. We have a number of positions available and are looking for both newly qualified and more experienced Trading Standards Officers.

  • Trading Standards Officers - £25,314, £29,020 per annum for 36 hours per week
  • Senior Trading Standards Officer £33,332 per annum for 36 hours per week

Roles are based at Consort House, Queensway, Redhill, RH1 1YB and County Hall, Aylesbury HP20 1UP.  This position is based inside one of our main area offices, click HERE to see a 360 degree view of the building and surrounding area along with a view of the reception.

About the role

Senior Trading Standards Officer £33,332

Based out of Consort House, Redhill, RH1 1YB and carrying out investigations, public health and compliance work. Holding a trading standards qualification you will be an experienced and knowledgeable officer, with the ability to investigate a wide range of criminal matters and help protect the most vulnerable members of our society.  

Trading Standards Officer £29,020

By agreement these roles can be based at Consort House, Redhill, RH1 1YB or at County Hall, Aylesbury, HP20 1UP carrying out investigations, public health and compliance work or providing business advice and Primary Authority support. Holding a trading standards qualification you will be an experienced and knowledgeable officer, with the ability to investigate and/or advise on a wide range of matters.  

Trading Standards Officer £25,314

This is an entry level position suitable for a newly qualified or part qualified officer. Alternatively you may have significant knowledge and advisory experience of consumer protection or civil law and be looking to develop a career in trading standards. The position is based in our business advice team at Consort House, Queensway, Redhill, RH1 1YB. 

About you

  • Working in a dedicated team of investigators will give you the opportunity to use your knowledge and investigative skills to help protect the public and legitimate businesses from criminal predators.
  • Or as a qualified food officer you will be experienced and knowledgeable with the ability to investigate criminal matters throughout the food chain and contribute to improving public health and compliance through animal health, feed and food intelligence led and project based activities.
  • Our nationally recognised business advice service enables you to work closely with a wide variety of companies. You will use your knowledge and experience to provide regulatory advice and Primary Authority support.
