We are recruiting for a Public Health Project Officer for a one year fixed term contract.

About the role

Buckinghamshire County Council has an exciting opportunity for a Project Officer to join its award winning public health team (Local Government Association 2014). The County Council is an innovative and high performing council, and public health is embedded in the council’s core business. 

You will support the development and delivery of the Prevention at Scale pilot in Bucks, which is focusing on addressing the challenge of reaching, engaging and motivating residents, particularly from priority groups, to change their lifestyle behaviours. This will include engaging with internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver the project and working with partners and residents to develop insight for priority groups and co-designing solutions.  You will also be willing and able to support other projects according to the needs of the Public Health Department.

About you

The ideal candidate will have experience in a relevant field working in the local authority, NHS or voluntary sector setting, demonstrate strong communication and partnership working skills and have experience of stakeholder and resident engagement, developing insight and project management.

The post will be managed by an experienced Public Health Principal and be part of the Public Health Team.
