The opportunity

We have a number of fantastic opportunities for Assistant Team Managers to take the next step in their professional career in our Children in Need Team.  An exciting time to join us, where you can help shape the future of services for children in Buckinghamshire. Assisting the Team Manager, you’ll oversee children’s journeys and support and develop newly qualified social workers in your team. 

We have an ATM opportunity in High Wycombe.

We know your skills are highly sought after so we’re offering a 6% market factor salary enhancement if you choose Bucks. You will also receive a Golden Hello payment of £2,125 upon your one year work anniversary; car allowances of £600 per annum (paid monthly), and a Relocation Allowance up to £8,000 (if applicable)*.  At Buckinghamshire County Council, we’ll support you to develop your skills and experience and continue your own career progression.

About the role

You can expect to get involved in:

  • Performance management
  • Supervising staff
  • Managing and progressing a complex and/or high risk case load
  • Developing practice
  • Chairing reflective practice and strategy meetings
  • Deputising for the Team Manager
  • Mentoring and supervising students

About you

If you like being busy and work well in a fast paced team, you’ll be a great fit.  As well as holding a degree in social work (DipSW) and HCPC registered, you will have substantive relevant experience backed by evidence of appropriate professional expertise.
