Commissioning Support Officer
We are seeking a Commissioning Support Officer to join our Early Years Commissioning Team.
Please note this is a fixed term contract, scheduled to run up until August 2018 in the first instance.
The Early Years Commissioning Team supports the early years sector and schools to ensure that Buckinghamshire County Council meets its statutory duty to ensure sufficient high quality childcare and early education funded places for eligible 2, 3 & 4 year olds. The expansion of the entitlement to 30 hours requires the development of additional places to meet this demand and this is the current focus of our work.
About the role
This post is responsible for developing early years provision within both schools and the Private Voluntary and Independent sector and for delivering information, advice and training via a range of media.
This role supports existing and new providers with business activities including business and financial modelling, budget forecasting, grant applications, safeguarding and welfare, place development and compliance with relevant legislation.
The post requires knowledge and experience of the Early Years Foundation Stage, management models, robust knowledge of finance and business modelling within the early year’s sector, data analysis, and up to date knowledge of all relevant legislation.
The post is based at County Hall, Aylesbury, but requires extensive travel across the county.
A willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings and evenings is required.
