Overview

The Early Years Service ensures the local authority meets its statutory duty to secure sufficient high quality funded early education places for 2, 3 & 4 year olds and sufficient childcare for 0-14/18 year olds whose parents are in work or training to return to work.

About Us

On 01 November 2018, it was announced by the government that the five councils in Buckinghamshire will become a single unitary authority in April 2020.  This is an exciting opportunity for all the councils in the county to come together to build a brand new council for Buckinghamshire, building on the best experience and expertise of the five current councils.  We are developing plans with our District Council colleagues to build a new Unitary Council that is ambitious in its outlook, provides Buckinghamshire residents with simpler ways to access services that they need, and makes best use of public money.  Any changes made to the structure of local authorities in the county may affect council employees in the future.  Therefore, the five councils have agreed to restrict applications to this position to current employees of the five councils for a period of seven days from 1 February 2019 to 8 February 2019. External candidates are welcome to submit their application at any point; however, if a current employee applies during this seven day period, their application will be assessed prior to the council considering applications from external candidates.

About the role

Following a recent restructure we now have a vacancy for a full time Early Years Business Intelligence Assistant.   This permanent role will form part of an expanded team supporting the Early Years Service..

The full time role will involve collecting, processing and maintaining data from Early Years providers, which will assist in the provision of management information for future planning, as well as undertaking checking and inputting information from Early Years providers for their funding claims.

You will also be responsible for supporting providers to supply data by presenting pre-populated information requests wherever possible, and responding to queries from providers regarding data and claims. You will use a range of skills to achieve this such as Microsoft Office, and will be trained to use specialist IT and web based programmes.

About you

You will have excellent communication skills with proven experience of providing high quality customer services and will also possess excellent keyboard skills and attention to detail, and numerical skills would be an advantage.

You should be able to organise work and achieve deadlines.

Previous use of financial and purchasing systems such as SAP would be ideal.
