Overview

We are looking for a Referral Coordinator to join our Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Team at Aylesbury Police Station.

The MASH team is a dynamic multi agency environment which the safeguarding adults team sits within. Based at the police station alongside police/ children’s safeguarding/ education and substance misuse professionals.

About Us

The mash is a dynamic multi agency environment which the safeguarding adults team sits within. Based at the police station alongside police/ children’s safeguarding/ education and substance misuse professionals. The safeguarding adults team will consider concerns from the community and professionals and aim to support vulnerable individuals by undertaking s.42 safeguarding enquiries in order to prevent/ reduce/ remove risk of harm. The team work together as a supportive network and no decision is made in isolation, there is a wealth or knowledgeable professionals to provide guidance and assistance. The Safeguarding adults team will coordinate enquiries through collaboration with other professionals and organisations. The service user remains at the heart of our work, using a strengths based approach and following the principles of safeguarding.

 

About the role

To be the first point of contact for members of the public and partner/blue light agencies with enquiries or concerns regarding an adult at risk, providing appropriate information and advice, and distinguishing between enquiries that range from basic advice and support, to those that need an assessment of need, to those where an adults safety and welfare may be at risk and may require a S42 safeguarding enquiry to be undertaken.

You will join a robust specialised team protecting and empowering people who are or remain at risk with care and support needs.

You will process and screen contacts from professionals and the public concerning  an adult with identified needs in a timely, efficient and safe manner providing information and advice as necessary within 24 hours.

About you

We are looking for someone who is a team player with excellent communication skills both telephonic and written. The ability to remain calm is stressful situations is a key part of the role.

You should have experience in Adult Social Care or partner agency and having an understanding of the Care Act in particular safeguarding.

As part of the selection process for this role you will be required to have a DBS check and Thames Valley Police check undertaken if you are successfully offered the role.
