About Us

The Supervised Contact Service is required to support the emotional and psychological development of children and young people, by providing them with safe and beneficial contact with parents and other family members and friends from whom they are separated whilst they are subject of legal proceedings or accommodated by agreement with the local authority.

The Supervised Contact Service provides safe, beneficial contact in a child-centred environment, and intervenes to prevent unsafe contact.  The service is committed to promoting children’s rights and the processes necessary to ensure their welfare. No child or young person is forced to have contact against his/her will.

The service inform and challenge referring teams’ assessments and contact planning in order to protect vulnerable children, their parents and carers and to develop good practice in child contact.

About you

You will ...

  • Be willing and able to model our values and deliver our conditions
  • Be able to promote a ‘strengthening families’ approach to social work practice
  • NVQ2 / NVQ3 in relevant subject or willing to study for this
