Support Worker (Bank)

About the role
In this role you will provide appropriate emotional, social and physical support for clients. You will assist clients in an individual, dignified, person centred way, to ensure they are supported to make meaningful choices, take part in a range of activities and live their lives as fully and independently as possible and to get what they need and want from the service to make their day enjoyable and meaningful.
You will work in partnership with clients and their families in order to deliver the best care and support possible and share our values for promoting independence, choice and control for everyone using the centre. You will be part of a team whose aim is to encourage the development of clients’ strengths and interests within a structured environment in which clients feel secure and empowered.
The people we support are very diverse and have different disabilities – this means we need to make sure our staff are well-trained in a variety of areas. Ideally, you will have some knowledge and experience of adult social care, but more importantly you must be motivated to improve the lives of vulnerable adults with a commitment to delivering a high quality service. The success candidate will have the ability to show initiative and take responsibility for actions, be flexible and work well as part of a team. Good communication and written skills are essential to write records including support plans.
We recognise that learning is an important part of this role and you will have the opportunity to complete the Care Certificate with a combination of face to face and E- learning.
